    Research and development of big data technologies in the field of human resources

    The aim of this work is to describe and report the achievements reached in the research and development of Big Data technologies and frameworks. The document describes the research process and the orientation towards the field of intelligent human resources management and recruiting, retrieving information from LinkedIn, Tecnoempleo and Infojobs and its posterior analysis inside a customized framework. The whole report covers the entire process of data selection and retrieval by means of emerging technologies such as Node.js or MongoDB, data processing using R programming language supported by Hadoop and algorithms such as TFIDF or Okapi BM25 and finally reaches conclusions and practical applications, which are considered either for future study or revision during the project. Most of the results are extracted from simple data analyses from the collections, which show very relevant data for Internet enterprises such as the activity from users and companies in LinkedIn or the most relevant aspects of job offers in Tecnoempleo. Additionally, a framework for this data analyses is built and documented to allow further research on the subject from a very clear starting point where all information can be gathered, processed and analysed within the same framework. Finally, to all research work a business application is added with a developed prototype which shows commercial possibilities for the data sets gathered. Such prototype is also developed by emerging technologies and is highly connected to the framework and all the Big Data ecosystem.Ingeniería Telemátic

    CloneSpot: Fast detection of Android repackages

    Repackaging of applications is one of the key attack vectors for mobile malware. This is particularly easy and popular in Android Markets, where applications can be downloaded, decompiled, modified and re-uploaded at a very low cost. Detecting clones and victims is often a hard task, especially in markets with several million of applications to analyze, such as Google Play Store. This work proposes CloneSpot, a novel methodology to efficiently detect Repackaged versions of Android apps using Min-Hashing techniques applied to applications’ meta-data publicly available at Google Play.     El objetivo fue realizar un análisis de la producción científica desarrollada hasta la fecha sobre actividad física (AF) extracurricular en niños occidentales de 6 a 12 años. Se utilizaron las bases de datos Medline/Pub-Med, Scopus y metabuscador Google Scholar para recoger artículos publicados entre enero de 1990 y mayo de 2013. Se analizó un total de 104 publicaciones. Los parámetros de composición corporal son los más utilizados para valorar los resultados de los estudios, seguidos de aquellos que estiman la capacidad aeróbica máxima. Los artículos de intervención se presentan con unas características metodológicas muy heterogéneas, aunque existen tendencias claras en el uso de determinados aspectos. En cuanto a las revisiones, la mayoría son sistemáticas e incluyen metaanálisis; el índice de masa corporal (IMC) es el parámetro más utilizado.The purpose of this review was to analyze the scientific production about extra-curricular physical activity (PA) in western children of 6-12 years. Medline / Pub-Med, Scopus and Google Scholar were used. This search collects articles published between January 1990 and May 2013. A total of 104 publications were analyzed. The body composition parameters are best used to assess the results of the studies, followed by those which estimate the maximum aerobic capacity. Articles of intervention are presented with very heterogeneous methodological features but there are clear trends in the use of certain aspects.     Test-Driven Development of a Substructuring Technique for the Analysis of Electromagnetic Finite Periodic Structures

    In this paper, we follow the Test-Driven Development (TDD) paradigm in the development of an in-house code to allow for the finite element analysis of finite periodic type electromagnetic structures (e.g., antenna arrays, metamaterials, and several relevant electromagnetic problems). We use unit and integration tests, system tests (using the Method of Manufactured Solutions—MMS), and application tests (smoke, performance, and validation tests) to increase the reliability of the code and to shorten its development cycle. We apply substructuring techniques based on the definition of a unit cell to benefit from the repeatability of the problem and speed up the computations. Specifically, we propose an approach to model the problem using only one type of Schur complement which has advantages concerning other substructuring techniques.This work has been financially supported by TEC2016-80386-P and PID2019-109984RB-C41

    Noise Sources, Effects and Countermeasures in Narrowband Power-Line Communications Networks: A Practical Approach

    The integration of Distributed Generation, Electric Vehicles, and storage without compromising the quality of the power delivery requires the deployment of a communications overlay that allows monitoring and controlling low voltage networks in almost real time. Power Line Communications are gaining momentum for this purpose since they present a great trade-off between economic and technical features. However, the power lines also represent a harsh communications medium which presents different problems such as noise, which is indeed affected by Distributed Generation, Electric Vehicles, and storage. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the types of noise that affects Narrowband Power Line Communications, including normative noises, noises coming from common electronic devices measured in actual operational power distribution networks, and noises coming from photovoltaic inverters and electric vehicle charging spots measured in a controlled environment. The paper also reviews several techniques to mitigate the effects of noise, paying special attention to passive filtering, as for being one of the most widely used solution to avoid this kind of problems in the field. In addition, the paper presents a set of tests carried out to evaluate the impact of some representative noises on Narrowband Power Line Communications network performance, as well as the effectiveness of different passive filter configurations to mitigate such an impact.     Rendimiento del remate en K1: Influencia de la rotación y la zona de recepción en equipos de voleibol de alto nivel masculino

    El objetivo de este estudio, fue investigar la asociación de la zona de recepción con el rendimiento del remate considerando el impacto de la rotación, en equipos de voleibol masculino de alto nivel. Fueron analizados 29 partidos de selecciones internacionales masculinas de máximo nivel, obteniendo una muestra de 3689 remates en la fase de KI. Las variables analizadas fueron: la rotación del equipo en recepción, la zona de recepción y el rendimiento del remate. Se emplearon modelos de regresión ordinales para determinar la influencia de la zona de recepción y la interacción de la rotación en el rendimiento del remate. Los resultados mostraron interacciones significativas entre la rotación y la zona de recepción, que permiten entender la mayor o menor probabilidad de conseguir un mejor rendimiento en remate (p<0.001) en algunas de las rotaciones. En conclusión, el rendimiento del remate es diferente en función de la interacción de la rotación del equipo y de la zona de recepción, lo que podría asociarse con decisiones tácticas en la ejecución del saque.The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between the reception zone and the spiking performance in each of the game rotations in top level men's volleyball teams. The sample consisted of 29 men´s matches of final phases in Olympic Games, World League and World Cup between 2012 and 2016, obtaining a sample of 3,689 spikes in the K1 phase. The variables analyzed were: the rotation of the reception team, the reception area and the spike performance. Ordinal regression models were used to determine the influence of the receiving zone and the interaction of rotation on spike performance. The results show significant interaction between the rotation and the reception area on spike performance (X²₄₆ = 127.885; p <.001; r2 = .036), which allow us to understand the greater or lesser probability of achieving a better spike performance in some of the rotations. In conclusion, the performance of the spike varies depending on the interaction of the rotation of the team and the reception area, but this relation in global level, only explain 3.6% of the variance of the spike. The analysis of the situations in which significance has been found could be associated with strategic decisions in the execution of the serve and the training of the K1

    El presente Trabajo Fin de Grado aborda el tema de las historiadoras españolas en el siglo XX desde una perspectiva de género. Para su elaboración he utilizado, sobre todo, fuentes secundarias, y también me he remitido a algunas fuentes primarias. El objetivo del estudio es dar a conocer el contexto en el que estas historiadoras desarrollaron su trabajo, el papel “teórico” que ha tenido y sigue teniendo el género en la Historia, así como las grandes aportaciones de distintas historiadoras a la producción histórica en un periodo que abarca desde la última década del siglo XIX hasta finales del XX, centrándome especialmente en la etapa de la Segunda República y el franquismo

    Machine-Learning based analysis and classification of Android malware signatures

    Multi-scanner Antivirus (AV) systems are often used for detecting Android malware since the same piece of software can be checked against multiple different AV engines. However, in many cases the same software application is flagged as malware by few AV engines, and often the signatures provided contradict each other, showing a clear lack of consensus between different AV engines. This work analyzes more than 80 thousand Android applications flagged as malware by at least one AV engine, with a total of almost 260 thousand malware signatures. In the analysis, we identify 41 different malware families, we study their relationships and the relationships between the AV engines involved in such detections, showing that most malware cases belong to either Adware abuse or really dangerous Harmful applications, but some others are unspecified (or Unknown). With the help of Machine Learning and Graph Community Algorithms, we can further combine the different AV detections to classify such Unknown apps into either Adware or Harmful risks, reaching F1-score above 0.84.The authors would like to acknowledge the support of the national project TEXEO (TEC2016-80339-R), funded by the Ministerio de Economia y Competitividad of SPAIN through, and the EU-funded H2020 SMOOTH project, Spain (grant no.
